Jos de Smedt / Luc Stemmelin / Bob Stikkers / André Szabo

Jos De Smedt

A rather strange work by this Belgium based artist.
By enlarging tis picture you are able to say the different
structures that the artist used and what makes it a
remarkable work. Oil on panel. Dimensions: 50 / 50 cm.

At first one tend to believe that everything has been done
very precise and with great care. Studying the details
however proves to be otherwise. The work is titled:
Devotion.

Hardly to believe but this is a signature and luckily enough
the work has been signed on the back as well.

The signature and title on the back. The word "pinxit"
is Latin and it says: "Made by". This is wat Wikipedia
has to say about it: It is a stylized amendment added
to the signature depiction of the name of the person
responsible for a work of art, found conventionally
in the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Luc Stemmelin

This is a so called assemblage work from the Frenchman
Luc Stemmelin. A lot of his works can be found on the
internet and have been auctioned at various auction houses
in France. We've called this "Quai du Chatelet (Paris)
You can enlarge it by clicking on this photo's
Work on canvas. Dimensions: 35 / 45 cm.

And another one probably from a collector. In his
immediately recognizable style. "Rue du Pont Neuf.
Work on canvas. Dimensions: 35 / 45 cm.

Routier 461 7.12. is the third one in our serie. Despite the
application of various techniques there is a kind of uniform-
ness in his works. All elements just click together repre-
senting a kind of street art as we like to call it.
Work on canvas. Dimensions: 35 / 45 cm.

Bob Stikkers

With a kind of strange humoresque approach Bob is
calling a lot of his works "Singles Machine" With
different techniques he manages to combine technical
elements while still obtaining a warm atmosphere.

In the lower left corner he placed his signature. You have
to know it is there. Work on paper: Dimensions: 25 / 35cm.

Andre Szabo

A surrealistic work from the Belgium immigrated painter
André Szabo. He was an art teacher in Hungary
but has been living for a long time near Brussels.
Registration in the Belgium Art Encyclopedia Paul Piron.
Paul Delvaux encouraged Andre Szabo
to explore his surrealistic talents.
Oil on panel. Dimensions: 40 / 50 cm.

The fascination for structures are still present in this
more recent work but the surrealistic style is gone.
A little bit reminiscent of the style of Leonor Fini.
Mixed media on paper. Dimensions: 33 / 48 cm.

The typical signature with the small prefix s placed
inside the bigger "Z".
