Louis Wattiez / Ans Wortel / Wrinch / Wladimir Zwaagstra

We recently discovered our second Louis Wattiez.
More well known surrealistic and fantastic painters are
René Magritte, Paul Delvaux, Gaston Bogaerts and
Gard van Mechelen. Ideas are often great but
workmanship isn't allways that great.
To us, Wattiez has both skills!
Gouache. Dimensions: 35 - 50 cm

Nice surrealistic work by the belgium artist
Louis Wattiez. Work on paper.
Dimensions 30 - 40 cm.

Ans Wortel

The Dutch paintress and writer Ans Wortel
allways used pieces of text for a lot of her works.
She has a very recognizable style and still
is very popular and well known for her
illustrations in books of others as well.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 30 / 42 cm.

Probably this second one is more recent as it is a good
example of the greater intensity in colors that marked
her later work. During her lifetime she stayed true to
this style no matter the different kind of movements
in recent art history. Work on paper. Dimensions:
28,5 / 39 cm.

Wrinch

This is an etching by an unknown artist.
Mostly I'll go for paintings but this one has
a lot to look at! Work on paper.
Dimensions: 30 - 40 cm.

Wladimir Zwaagstra

This painter works very geometrical at this moment.
This is a much earlier work but definitely from his hand.
Being rather big, a work like this deserves a lot of space.
Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 110 / 150 cm.

In the lower left corner his signature can be found.
He made this work for the BKR.

The label mentions the title: Fear of space
