Laure Malcles / Gabriël Meiring / Millar / Daniël Monic

This painting reminds me of the way Raoul Dufy works.
This belgium artist who was married to Frans Masereel
worked a lot in the south of France where this village
(Laudun) can be found.
Gouache on paper. Dimensions: 37 - 47 cm.

Gabriël Meiring

This work bears the title "Pisces" and is everything to do
with someone's constellation. It is an early work of the
South Africa born concert pianoplayer Gabriël Meiring.
As an artist he has been described in the Paul Piron
as he lives and works in Brussels. The remarkable thing
about this painting is that it has been oil painted on
silk. Influences of Gustav Klimt especially in the earlier
works are obvious. Dimensions 40 / 50 cm.

A somewhat later work in which he really evolved into
an even more profilic style. Though smaller as the first
one, this work has alot of elements in it. Meiring
possibly chooses his own encadrements and passe-
partout lines. To my taste not a perfectly fit.

This painting is even much more detailed and also bears
similarities with the works of Gustav Klimt but one way
or another he places his work in more modern times.
It has someting to do with a certain kind of rigor and
his added suppleness. Work on board. Dimensions:
22 / 28 cm.

And some details that are all worth an observation.

Certainly the pattern on the left is in fact an
abstract work in itself!

His signature hasn't changed and attests it
to be from 1976.

The puppet is another smaller work we were able to buy.
The recipe remains the same. Work on paper. Dimensions:
13 / 32 cm.

And again some beautiful details.

Meiring proves to be a master of giving different
structures in different planes in his work.

Take a close look: She didn't really lose her head.

A bit more difficult to read but it is there.

Millar

Obviously a man and woman portrait but in a kind
of naive, Cobra like manner. Securely framed, we
think it to be of value but we simply can't trace this
"Millar" Oil on maroufle / Board. Dimensions:
45 / 50 cm.

The signature can be studied here. Feel free to E-mail us
with more information. And also if there are any questions.

Daniël Monic

His hyperrealistic approach makes him quite recognizable.
A lot of his works can be found on the internet as he has
his own website. This one is a litho and was created for
the Trophy Laurent-Perrier - BMW - G.
As is quite reassuring for art lovers this litho and most
works of his hand come with a certificat of authenticity.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 50 / 70 cm.
