Hans Laban / Jean Marie Legrand / Leo Lemmens / John Lennon / Levrier (?)

Hans Laban

A work by the Utrecht (The Netherlands) based artist
Hans Laban. This work exposes differnt techniques while
in fact the grafical part plays a modest role.
The result is a nice composition to our believe.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm

Jean Marie Legrand

This is a rather big pastel by this Belgium based
artist. There is a kind of peacefulness to this work.
This rather old man still makes beautiful pastels!

Leo Lemmens

This "thoughtful" crayon we obtained appears to be from the Belgium
painter Leo Lemmens. Though his work normally is much more
"violent and '"moving" he is a gifted drawer and illustrator as
well. Leo just recently was awarded with an international prize
(Leipzig) but was allready awarded in Belgium as well with several
prizes. Presented here is a portrait of his wife.  Striking is
the position in which Leo placed the head and his skills can be
admired in the expression of the different details as well.

For instance, the expression of the hair that you are allmost
able to touch and the thoughtful look in her eyes.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 50 / 60 cm.

We were set on the right trace by carefully observing this
signature: the simple prefix "L" and the strange "S"
As allready has been told Leo Lemmens pictured
his wife "Patsy" .

John Lennon

This is "The Hug" a so called litho
made by John Lennon. Though there
are a lot of post prints from this one
allways be aware of the John Lennon
Estate print and the Yoko Ono stamp
in red on the right. This edition
exist of 3000 prints.

The John Lennon Estate marking.

You are able here to study the Yoko Ono Stamp as well
as another litho by John Lennon called "The Family".
Same printing edition though it is not clear to me
wether if these are post prints or not but even these
post prints can fetch  a lot of money as collectors
of course are eager to have one on their wall.

Levrier

Probably belgium art. We bought this at an auction in
Antwerp and though nothing could be found about this
artist we simply liked it!
Oil on panel. Dimensions: 80 - 120 cm.
