Theo Tobiasse / Boas Toorgeman / Tumarkin Igael

Israelian art can be admired at various places in my Blogs
and in fact Theo Tobiasse (France) is responsible for the
heritage of jewish art a bit similar to Marc Chagall and
in France the still active Raya Sorkine. Litho.

For people who are wondering wether if the signature
on their work is OK. This one fits the examples found on
the internet! Edition 88 out of 99 examples.

Boas Toorgeman (1963)

Though this crayon is not signed, other works by this artist
makes it clear this work to be a genuine one. Presented
here is the singer and actrice Cher who became famous
as a duo singing "I got you babe". Toorgeman goes to
the extreme and tries to catch a character as well in
his works, often with crayon, watercolour and pencil.
This work has been done in crayon. Modigliani could
have been an inspiration though his women are always
anonymous as opposed to the women of Toorgeman.
Boaz Toorgeman came to Belgium in 1984 but in fact
was born in Haifa, Israel in 1963.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 50 / 72 cm.

Igael Tumarkin

One way or another I keep being attracted to Israëlien
artists. Tumarkin is well known for his sculpture installations
in Tel Aviv among others. His work has been represented
by many of the more famous worlwide museums:
New York Metropolitan Museum and Tate Gallery (London)
and many more. Dimensions 60 - 80 cm.
